The Lotus Formula 1 Simulator Challenge

An Intense Feeling At The Lotus Formula 1 Simulator Challenge

The Lotus Formula Simulator held at Glorietta 4 Makati last May 9,2013. The event made possible by Globe Tatto, some members of the Lotus F1 Team including our very own Filipino F1 driver, Marlon Stockinger present in the event with her mom. Globe Tattoo sponsored the whole event and organized the much awaited F1 Simulator Challenge that brought the participants into excitement and thrills to their nerves as they showcased their competitive skills for the challenge.

Fans and other people gathered in Glorietta 4 to witness how the Formula 1 Simulator functions and acquire knowledge on the advantage of embracing such technology especially for aspiring Formula 1 Drivers. The F1 Simulator was adjusted and it is not that similar to a real one which FIA drivers use in their training before getting their A game in the tracks. It was like an arcade race game like Gran Turismo in Playstation 3 with the use of the stirring wheel, gas and break pedals for the controls.

Game on! Mikee at the F1 simulator.

Quick and unbeatable time should be attained the rule of the challenge imposed this. It's quite nice to feel that energy from each participants as they were really apt for the challenge and they gave their best time that they could to win cool prizes. The rule is simple, top 3 of the participants who got the quickest and shortest time in just two laps wins. And surprisingly, I did not place and that quite sucks. However, two of my friends who were their got into top 3. The only girl who placed 3rd was Sheng Banzon, contributing writer of Top Gear. Then, my good friend Angelo Sison, blogger of Pinoy Loves Wheels and A Slalom Driver got into 2nd place. And of course the champion of the challenge, a nice friend of mine, Ivan Isada, also a blogger of Pinoy Loves Wheels and a well experienced driver of Rally. Ivan Isada got the shortest time at 1:41 which gave him the edge over other drivers in the F1 Simulator. He had a superb driving and did not usually hit the the walls of the race track opposite on what I did when it was my turn.

The top 3 winners got a French Champagne and a Swatch wrist watch. Both of them are really cool to be with and we had a great time during the event.  I felt this intense feeling while sitting in the F1 Simulator seat. A stirring wheel on my sweaty hands then my shaky feet stepping on gas and break pedals. It was like an arcade game in Timezone plus the anxious feeling while the crowd was screaming. It ended in a awesome and yet enduring kind of way with the presence of the crowd and the environment of the Glorietta 4 mall.

Sheng Banzon of Top Gear winning 3rd place

Rally Champion Ivan Isada, champion again. This time in F1.
